Eighty kilometres northwest of Tapah in the Kinta Valley, IPOH grew rich on the tin trade and is now the third biggest city in Malaysia. Ipoh is located just north of Kuala Lumpar and south of Penang. It is dominately a Chinese town and it's resource of income is tin mines.

Major sightseeing include: Perak Tong Temple and the Sam Poh Temple. Both temples are located a few KM's just out of town.

Alot of visitors and local people stop-over in Ipoh on their way to Pangkor Island.
